Serial Ata Cable

What is Serial ATA?
Serial ATA is a replacement of the evolution of the interface parallel ATA physical storage. It is extensible and enables the upgrade of computer platform. These include easier integration, faster performance and more efficient design. SATA offers a transfer rate of 150 MB / s or 300 Mb / s against 133 MB / s maximum using the previous technology.
Specifying Parallel ATA has defined the standard storage interface for PCs since the protocol was introduced in the 1980s. Parallel ATA led for three main reasons " low cost, the operating system to support a broad and constantly evolving. Parallel ATA evolved to support higher speeds and performance while maintaining compatibility with ATA devices and more. However, various reasons, including the yield spread, problems Wiring, tolerance and voltage requirements, a new storage interface needs. Therefore, Interface Serial ATA was defined. Was officially formed in July 2004 Serial ATA International Organization (SATA-IO). The Serial ATA International Organization (SATA-IO) is the group responsible for developing, management and conduct of the adoption of Serial ATA specification. SATA-IO provides the industry with guidance and support technology with 15 years high-speed serial bus that supports up to 10 years for future expansion.
Known as the Serial ATA, Serial Interface news is designed to overcome the limitations of parallel ATA and provides further improvements to the system storage platforms today. Users delivery of Serial ATA interface for greater speed, simpler scalable storage devices, a simpler configuration, more accumulation system easy, simplified wiring which eliminates the bridges, improving the overall air flow and greater reliability system.
Adoption of the Serial ATA storage offering low cost to the industry, improving the speed and bandwidth, and serves as a replacement for the evolution of the parallel ATA interface. Application of the Serial ATA technology allows easy integration because Wiring improved, greater flexibility regarding the system plugability and hot. With these improvements, the integrators system can create new solutions with less stress and experience greater interoperability with other interfaces.

DVD IDE Computer, Serial ATA?
I have a DVD player from my old PC that uses an IDE cable, but my new computer uses cables Serial ATA power are not the same. How can I use my old DVD player in my new computer because the power cord is different and is used instead of standard IDE ATA. My PC is a Dell Inspiron 530.
No PATA (IDE) on the motherboard. The following link is for PATA SATA kit.
