HP Warranty Question ?
Hi ya…
I’ve had a HP Quad 6600 for about 7 months.
During that time, I’ve upgraded my GPU, PSU, Ram, and added a few extra cooling fans.
Recently I installed W7 and have had sound probs ever since.
After reinstalling drivers AND W7, I’ve still had sound probs.
HP help center said it sounds like my mobo is cactus and to contact my nearest service center.
A tech guy is coming to my pad tomorrow to fix prob. Maybe even installing new mobo.
My question is…. Will the upgrades I’ve made to my pc be covered by HP warranty?
The upgrades made no probs… Only after installing W7.
Where do I stand?

I installed W7 on a partition on my main drive. My main OS is XP Pro 32bit.
+Did you read on the Microsoft web site that you were NOT supposed to put Win7 on your “primary” or “main” computer? The reason for that is that the OS is still in testing stage and is not ready for release. The only thing wrong with your system is that you installed Win7. Also, if you made major hardware upgrades to your computer and replaced some of the HP hardware components, then there is a possibility you have voided the warranty. I suggest you read over your warranty agreement to determine if that is the case or else you could find yourself being charged for a home service call.
